Amid the rising
tensions, sky rocketing inflations, impeachment of highest rank leaders, how
far have we succeeded to set moral values or so called life goals for the young
generations to come. The youth is flabbergasted in the sea of myriad
opportunities today. It is a matter of resentment for the newbie aspirant of a
corporate field, of a construction field, of a knowledge field or of a research
field to go and work with the bosses who are neck deep in unethical approach to
work. The scriptures say “Yoga Karmesu
Kaushalam”. It means to attain perfection through work. Hence there is the
seed principle amongst people, to work and to attain the skill of perfection in
it.
To categorise
work, I quote from Manusmriti “There are four clear divisions of people who
would choose their profession according to their personality traits.” The
Brahmanas or the class of people who like to exercise their brain, or the
intellectual capacity by discussions, strategic planning
To come to terms
to the present day, all the people choose work based on the rewards it gives
regardless of their personality traits. There is no scrutiny to examine the
natural talent in a character but there is the rat race open to participation
for all. By doing this, in exchange of lucrative lifestyle and deals, many are
trapped in the system ending with unhappy job environment and unsatisfied job
life. As I grew up with my fellow friends from childhood, I saw many good
potential friends each with a definite set of personality trait suitable for
some service in the interest of the nation. But the increasing parity among the
working conditions of different set of jobs has forced them to choose which is
high paying rather than working the job they would love to do. I am not
referring to passion here but the critical line of separation between so called
what you would do day and night tirelessly and still would love to continue
till the last day of life and following the passion what today’s world
advertises with. I have seen people on their deathbeds, who come to senses
speaking about their profession. The sense of attachment to their work is such
that it attracts them more than anything else in the world. The genius
mathematician, Ramanujan, on the death bed getting treated in a hospital, for
an instance saw the number plate of the car of professor G. H. Hardy parked
outside the hospital when the professor came to meet him and the only thing he
discussed with him was “the number”. It took 30 years for the professor to
decode what he said on the final stages of the death bed to be the difference
between smallest possible integer as addition of two cubes. From one case to
many and from many to thousands, the class of people of such brilliance would
be there where minimal group would be unhappy but maximal group would be happy
about the circumstances they are dealing with. This would start with producing
right kids who would in turn choose for themselves the right profession regardless
of the lucrative deal it offers and hence, the case of choosing the right
profession and to secure in the future a right generation of people, all starts
with right marriage. The seed of the future is sown today.
In the light of
present day conditions of going out there and choosing your partner, I appeal
to my fellow comrades, do not be selfish and give to the society best of your
genes to match with the right genes and produce best genes. It is now or never,
we would come to terms with the science of attaining perfection that is as old
as the moons and stars but is as new as a fresh fruit. IT NEVER DIES. Some
might call it an obsession but one perfect human being creates wellbeing for a
thousand or lakhs of human beings, one Adi shankara, one Ramanujacharya, one
genius and millions of lives are transformed being in their presence.
