Dear Readers
This blog is about all of you who have spent a minimum of 15-20 years of your primitive stage in life. The screen-test which you all had to pass to succeed in life.
Let me tell you some short stories. On 20th January, Pratyusha Vedantam, a IIT Madras student goes missing. She wrote in a note "on her leanings toward the sainthood, she has embarked upon the journey towards Himalayas". She had mentioned developing a strange detachment from the curriculum and thus went ahead to search the purpose of her life.A few months before that, a PhD student from Hyderabad Central University committed suicide. He wrote in a note "No one to blame for his suicide". He mentioned failure in academics and peer pressure in the suicide note. Prior to this incidence, roughly 500 or more beggars were found in Bangalore having completed MSc and indulged in begging in a survey conducted by an NGO. The survey revealed, by begging they were getting more money than doing their desk jobs.
Now the Question is, where is this education system set by a british general Mackeley is leading us ? When countries like Finland, Singapore, South korea and so many others have adopted the unorthodox education system in which they replaced subjects with topics, what have we done ?
Since its birth, like a bird learns to fly, a calf learns to stand and a baby elephant learns to walk in the laboratory called nature, Let us not cage ourselves in man made laboratories up to a quarter of our lives. Let us not be guided by persons paid to teach us only the limited books. The books, where for a certain theory to begin there has to be some assumptions, there has to be a 'x', there has to be some boundary conditions. Because nature has not set any boundary conditions upon us. Then why we try to measure it with our own boundaries ??!!Here we are talking about persons who spend a quarter of their life time in schools, colleges and later left wandering in their lives are often rendered lost. We cant just teach a generation a few subjects of our theoretical perception up to a quarter of their life and later ask them to be on their own, in earnings, in making a living, in contributing to family and society. Every living being on earth has the right to choose a life of their own. Let their be no imposed education system, which as of now is modified just to earn the bread and butter in life. People call it success. I call it If you win a rat race, you are still a rat. Thats why we have a fewer ideologies left nowadays who the youth can look up to and follow. Because Ideas live forever but the temporary arrangements in a human life vanishes as soon as he or she dies. Let the education flourish from the birth of human being. But it is to guide oneself to reach his/her utmost goal. As a cue from 'Jonathan Livingston' the story of a seagull, let each being try and get to their ultimate expression of itself in the laboratory of nature. Let there not be any struggle only for bread and butter where one succumbs to death without knowing himself. let the society be welcoming to its new generations and nurturing new talents effortlessly. Let there be an educated society, where life welcomes a life and a life nurtures another life. Then we can gain control over the suicides of youth and thus, a civilisation of generosity, kindness, sacrifice will flourish. So does the saffron color of Our flag mean.
